Uncovering a Conspiracy: Canada’s Investigation into the Murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar

Canada arrests suspects linked to murder blamed on India

In June of last year, Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar was brutally murdered in Canada. The Ottawa authorities attributed the crime to the Indian government, and three men have since been arrested by Canadian police in connection with the murder. Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh, and Karan Brar, all Indian citizens, have been charged with aggravated murder and conspiracy according to court documents filed in Surrey, British Columbia.

During a news conference, Mandeep Mooker, superintendent of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, revealed that they are investigating any possible links the suspects may have had with the Indian government. The investigation into Nijjar’s murder is ongoing and has uncovered that the suspects were part of a group of hired killers possibly involved in three other murders in Canada. Nijjar was a supporter of Khalistan, an independent Sikh country in Punjab, India.

In September of last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused the Indian government of being involved in Nijjar’s murder. This led to the expulsion of diplomats from both countries. The suspects are currently facing serious criminal charges for their alleged involvement in the crime.
