The Green Bay Packers’ Strategy to Prevent Christian Watson Hamstring Injuries for the 2023 Season

Packers Devote Attention to Addressing Christian Watson’s Hamstring Issues

Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson missed eight games last year due to hamstring injuries, and the team is committed to preventing a repeat of that situation. This week, Watson visited a lab in Madison in an effort to address the issue. The lab provided a detailed diagnosis and insight into Watson’s physical condition, in hopes of finding solutions to prevent future injuries.

When he is on the field, Watson is a valuable asset to the team. The goal is to have him available for every game in the upcoming season. Coach Matt LaFleur emphasized the team’s commitment to exploring all possible measures to reduce the risk of injury for Watson. The receiver is working diligently in Florida to ensure he is in peak physical condition for the season.

In 2023, Watson had 28 catches for 422 yards and five touchdowns in his second NFL season. No Packers receiver had more than 793 receiving yards that year, with rookie Jayden Reed leading the team with that number. LaFleur acknowledged the challenges of soft-tissue injuries in football and emphasized the team’s efforts to control what they can, including training loads and practices to minimize such injuries.
