Hollidaysburg High School Tennis Team Maintains Unblemished Record with Win over Altoona; Central Emerges Victorious in Six-Inning Baseball Showdown

On Tuesday, the Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team improved to a perfect 5-0 record after defeating Altoona in a close match. Despite Altoona’s efforts, Hollidaysburg’s Garrett Bouchard and Michael Waibel earned singles wins, while the doubles team of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney also contributed to the victory. Meanwhile, in high school baseball, Central emerged victorious over Penns Valley with a final score of 19-9 in six innings. Mason Byler picked up the win in relief, with Jay Hoenstine leading the Dragon offense with three hits and four RBIs. Other contributors include Troy McNichol with three hits and three RBIs, Griffin Snowberger with three hits and two RBIs, and Britton Marko with two hits and three RBIs. Although both teams made multiple errors throughout the game, Central ultimately came out on top due to their strong offensive performances. In tennis, Hollidaysburg’s Ben Johnson defeated Luke Mitchell of Altoona in singles play, while Altoona’s Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer won their doubles match. With these victories, both Hollidaysburg in tennis and Central in baseball continue to demonstrate their skill and determination in their respective sports.
