Baseball Reference analysts predict gloomy outlook for Yankees in 2024, while BetRivers Sportsbook remains optimistic

Baseball Reference Predicts Yankees to End Season in Last Place

The analysts at Baseball Reference are not optimistic about the Yankees’ chances of making the playoffs in 2024. They predict that the team will have only a 2.7 percent chance to win the postseason and will win just 71.6 games, which is worse than both the Pirates and Angels without Shohei Ohtani. However, Fangraphs predict that the Yankees will win 88 games, which is the fourth-most in all of baseball. BetRivers Sportsbook is even more bullish on the Yankees, projecting them to win 91.5 games with a third-best odds to win the most games in baseball at +650.

While BetRivers gives the Yankees a significant advantage over Baseball Reference’s projections with their offseason acquisitions such as Juan Soto and Aaron Judge’s potential to stay healthy for a full season, it’s important to note that these projections are based solely on statistical models and do not take into account factors like injuries or player performance. Therefore, while they provide some insight into how successful each team might be next season, they should not be considered definitive or infallible predictions.
